Afoxolaner, the active ingredient of the drug, is an insecticidal and acaricidal of the isoxazoline group. The mechanism of action of afoxolaner involves blocking the GABA-dependent receptors of arthropods, hyperexcitation of neurons, disruption of nerve impulse transmission, leading to paralysis and death of parasites.
