Tablet preparation for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs.
Indications:
Congestive heart failure resulting from dilated cardiomyopathy or valve insufficiency (regurgitation of the mitral and/or tricuspid valves)
Contraindications:
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathies or clinical conditions where an increase in cardiac output is impossible for functional or anatomical reasons (e.g., aortic stenosis)
Severe liver dysfunction, as the metabolism of pimobendan occurs mainly through the liver
Pregnancy and lactation (safety has not been evaluated, so use is only possible on prescription and under the supervision of a veterinarian, after risk assessment)
