Cefquinome is an antibiotic of the fourth generation cephalosporin group. It acts bactericidally against gram-positive and gram-negative, aerobic, facultative anaerobic, and anaerobic microorganisms - Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. (including S. dysagalactiae, S. agalactiae, S. uberis), as well as Proteus spp., Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum. The mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of the microorganism's cell wall.
