Pharmacological properties
The drug belongs to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs of the oxicam class, is a selective COX-2 inhibitor. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action is associated with a decrease in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins due to the inhibition of the enzymatic activity of COX-2, which is involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins in the focus of inflammation; it has a slight effect on COX-1, which reduces the risk of side effects.
