ATC-vet QM01AC56, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic agents, meloxicam and combinations.
The drug belongs to the class of oxicam nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, is a selective COX-2 inhibitor. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. The mechanism of action is associated with a decrease in prostaglandin biosynthesis due to inhibition of COX-2 enzymatic activity, which is involved in prostaglandin synthesis at the site of inflammation; it has little effect on COX-1, reducing the risk of side effects.
