Antisedan 0.5%, fl. 10 ml solution for injection 0.5% sterile, clear, colorless, containing atipamezole hydrochloride 5 mg/ml as the active substance.
Packaged in glass bottles of 10 ml.
The active substance atipamezole selectively blocks alpha2-adrenoceptors, eliminating the sedative effect of medetomidine (Domitor), an alpha2-adrenoceptor stimulant. The maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood is reached within 10-15 minutes. Atipamezole is mainly oxidized in the liver, with a smaller portion being methylated in the kidneys. It is primarily excreted in the urine as metabolites. Half-life period is 1 hour.
